Marcus Katz is an author & co-author of over 50 books and is a teacher of the Western Esoteric Initiatory System (WEIS) of which he is a lifelong practitioner. He is co-author of the Award-winning "Around the Tarot in Seventy-Eight Days" (Llewellyn, 2012) and author of the ground-breaking "Tarosophy" (Forge Press, 2011).
He was the first person in the world to be conferred with an M.A. in Western Esotericism at the prestigious University of Exeter in 2008.
As the co-Director of the Tarosophy Tarot Association, the world’s largest Tarot organisation, he has studied and taught tarot for forty-five years and has delivered more than ten thousand face-to-face readings.
His work with co-author and researcher Tali Goodwin re-discovered the Waite-Trinick Tarot, A. E. Waite's secret tarot images created ten years after the Waite-Smith Tarot and kept secret for a century. Marcus and Tali also brought the Lenormand cartomantic system to popular awareness and re-discovered the original "Game of Hope" deck as part of their "Tarot of Antiquity" campaign.
Marcus was initiated into Witchcraft in England, 1983, when he was 18. The coven was directly hived from Patricia Crowther and Gerald Gardner. Marcus now teaches his own unique lifestyle of Haeg Wica, a personal and direct practice of Hedge Witchcraft drawn from the landscape of his home in the Lake District of England.
Marcus teaches Witchcraft, Spellcrafting, Alchemy, Kabbalah, Tarot and other subjects of Western Esotericism through Magicka School.
He also offers the Crucible Club, a one-year self-study introduction course to the Western Esoteric Initiatory System (WEIS) he teaches, which is the foundation of application to the Order of Everlasting Day, a private working group of initiates in the system.
